Learning Irish with Irish schoolbooks

When I first started learning Irish, I began with Duolingo and shortly after Teach Yourself Complete Irish.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the book, I still had a lot of trouble reading books and other stuff in Irish after I was finished with the book. I decided that I needed something that would really help me feel comfortable at least with the grammar structure of the language. (For an Indo-European language, Irish grammar is quite complex.)

After looking around the Internet for a suitable book, I decided to begin with this series (the third one is not pictured because I am still waiting for it to arrive in the mail):

This is a three part series intended for used to teach Irish to children in Ireland during grades 4 through 6 (or as they refer to it in some pars of Europe – fourth through sixth class). It starts from simple, basic exercises and gradually becomes more difficult. This is perfect for me because I felt I needed to relearn most of the Irish grammar structure from scratch anyway. They contain a wide variety of activities and three review sections throughout each book.

So far I am having a ton of fun doing the exercises in the first book and am neither bored not overwhelmed with the pace. After I am done with the series, I will post an updat on how it has helped me.
