I started learning Swedish a few months ago with Duolingo, but I decided I needed a more traditional method to learn the language. Finally, I got this book really cheap on Amazon. It is the same new format used with the Mandarin Chinese book I talked about earlier. While I hate that the CDs in these books only work in MP3 players (which means my cheap car won’t play them and for some reason they’re more of a pain to download onto my phone than regular CDs), the new format is a whole lot of fun. I like the whole encouraging me to figure stuff out on my own idea that the new book layout uses.
But also it doesn’t hurt to have fun dialogue. For example in Chapter 3, the whole time I’m reading the first dialogue I’m thinking ‘Who waits until they’re on their trip to book a hotel?!’.
