Hi again, everyone!
While I am still putting a lot of effort into adding special themed lists for current and/or seasonal events, such as First Day of Summer, World Chocolate Day, etc., I have decided to go back and add at least a little more to my ‘core’ vocabulary lists. For example, in addition to the recently released school-themed vocabulary lists, I have been working on a set of lists to cover at least most of the vocabulary you may seek to describe emergencies and illnesses. After hours upon hours of ‘back-breaking’ research (I think it exacerbated my on-and-off sniffles these past couple of weeks), I am finally ready to post them – or at least I think I am 😅.
The goal of these lists is to help you talk about different emergencies and illnesses both now and when visiting the area where your target language is spoken. With that in mind, I tried to use vocabulary that will get your the farthest, even in more difficult situations.
In line with the last release, I have created this set of lists for the following languages: Danish, Elfdalian (pictured at the top), Faroese, Icelandic, Norwegian, Pite Sami and Swedish. In addition to reputable dictionaries such as svenska.se and den ‘Älvdalsk ordbok’ (currently available for Swedish-Elfdalian and Elfdalian-Swedish), I’ve also consulted native speakers and/or teachers of those languages whenever possible after already doing my own extensive research to do my best to use the most authentic vocabulary in these lists. However, for those native or fluent speakers who happen to see something that needs to be corrected or clarified, feel free to comment below.
