Kildin Sami is one of nine living Sami languages.

  • It is part of the Eastern Sami subgroup.

Kildin Sami is native to the Kola Peninsula in Russia.

According to a 2010 census, there are approximately 340 speakers of Kildin Sami.

  • It is now considered to be a critically endangered language.
  • It is spoken largely among older speakers. The language is rarely passed onto children.
