For those who read my post on Elfdalian at the beginning of this month, I would like to add that I have finished translating into English supplementary materials for Introduktion till Älvdalska that English speakers can use along with the original book to begin learning Elfdalian. It provides an English translation of all the grammar and exercises within the book. Once the original author finishes going through the book, I hope to be able to share it with you all right away.
In the meantime, I have become quite bored now that I am no longer working on the book (minus any necessary revisions). I still am working on my Pite Sami project, but apparently I need more. So I am trying to create materials for people of all ages to begin learning Elfdalian. Therefore, I am happy to present to you the first of many more materials to come – themed word lists with pretty pictures to help you imprint the words into memory. It follows basically the same format as the Pite Sami lists. Except, these lists are made for speakers of Icelandic and Faroese, in addition to Swedish, English, Danish, and Norwegian as seen in the Pite Sami word lists.
If you’re ready, begin by visiting the resource page I have set up for Elfdalian here. The current theme for the lists is food. Enjoy!
