Since there are limited resources for learning Manx (also referred to as Manx Gaelic), I decided to create a few lessons for fun. To test potential interest, I decided to post the first lesson here on this blog.

That’s great. I am always amazed to see how well Manx is doing.
I made a program to help people learn languages, and it was used by a fluent Manx speaker to make 25 Manx lessons with audio ( here: http://jimmorrison101.wixsite.com/manxlessons ). I think it is really good to be able to hear how a language sounds. Anyway, great stuff. All the best, Jim

Thanks. I agree with the importance of hearing how a language sounds. I hope to eventually find a fluent Manx speaker so I can add sound to these lessons.

Your website looks nice by the way. I will have to borrow one of my mother’s laptops to try the lessons out (mine is sadly kaput at the moment – thank goodness for tablets). Perhaps once I check it out you’d like me to review it on the Manx blog and page. Manx resources are relatively scarce to come by.

Ok great, just follow the 3 steps on the website.
You need a Windows machine.
Are you a fluent speaker?

That’s great. Thanks very much. I have read your review, and I am really glad you like the program.
I have updated the site and I think it is best if people use this link now…

Could you update it in your post? Thanks a lot.
Some other points:
Be sure to have a look at the Manx Phrases zip file. This is mentioned at the bottom of the page, and it has 25,000 Manx phrases to practice!!! These ones are without audio though.
Also, when you are using the program, play around with the controls at the bottom. Like ‘show text’ and ‘show translations’. Also try out ‘reveall mode’. I think these tools are very useful when practicing the sentences.
Anyway, thanks again and all the best!!
Jim
